CRAMPS - Stay Sick LP
From the heavy psychobilly sludge of "God Damn Rock and Roll" to the danceably trashy "Bikini Girls with Machine Guns" to the surf riffs on "Journey to the Center of a Girl", this is the most consistently kickass record that Lux and Ivy have ever recorded. Top off the original material with 3 tremendous covers: "Shortnin' Bread", "Muleskinner Blues" (Bob Wills) and "Her Love Rubbed Off On Me" (Carl Perkins), all performed with Lux's psychotic vocals and Ivy's demonic licks.
Cramps sleaziness is in full throttle. Every original has overt sexual innuendo or full on raunchiness, just like they're supposed to. And Lux couldn't possibly sound more insane. Yeah, so the production is big and the garage sound is a long gone thing of the past. Who cares when a record rules so hard!
