Lazaretto is here, and, as usual, it's entirely not what anyone expected it to be. Obviously, you know it's going to have the off kilter, out of tune, slashing, distorted guitar that absolutely devastates, which is in full prominence in "Three Women," "High Ball Stepper" and the title track itself. Of course there's going to be odd lyrics, unexpected instruments, radical shifts in tone, and moments of absolutely sublime synchronized melody like the infectious "Alone in My Room." This has all the staples of what we've come to expect from Jack.
