While 1966's Face to Face represented the turn toward a more sophisticated direction for The Kinks, the promise was truly realized with 1967's spectacular Something Else.

Certainly one of the greatest baroque pop albums of all-time, Something Else is a masterpiece of charming vignettes and character sketches - all of which confirm the blossoming genius of head Kink, Ray Davies.

It all culminates in the utterly sublime "Waterloo Sunset" - easily one of the finest rock/pop songs ever recorded, and the highlight of the band's catalog.
