Ever Never
C.I.A DEBUTANTE - Music For Small Rooms 12"
Limited edition of 200 copies.
Highly recommended.
"Music For Small Rooms provides more paranoid and blown-out cold-war industrial dub avantness. Comparisons to early Suicide and Cabaret Voltaire are unavoidable, but then why shouldn't they be? That's two perfectly fantastic reference points for anyone to be drawing on, and CIA Debutante appear particularly adept at it, half wreckers of civilisation, half arch-critics of a world gone fucked. Paranoia does indeed seem to be the overarching feeling here, Foucault's panopticon rendered in grey static and overlaid with a Ballardian monologue, at times also sounding like those other great avant rock deconstructivists The Shadow Ring and, in terms of contemporaries, Mosquitoes. So yeah, more strung out nightmare world vibes that sounds like nothing more than the absolute truth. Just because we're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get us..." - World of Echo
