Tall Pop Syndrome was penned after Jack was asked last year to support The Killers and thought he might have to reconfigure his musical approach slightly for an arena audience. Stripped back with the ever-present 808 beat, it plays like the lost link twixt Bryan Ferry and Depeche Mode... or Leonard Cohen and Soft Cell. Dark and brooding synth-pop with a gentlemanly swagger and tunes of disenchantment, Tall Pop Syndrome is another fine feather in his bow.
