Making a psychedelic electronic album that has two entirely different versions, neither of which is the definitive edition of the record, is somehow the most on-brand thing King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard could possibly do. The Silver Cord, announced to be a sort of complimentary opposite release to their thrash metal record PetroDragonic Apocalypse earlier this year around the same time as the aforementioned record's own unveiling, is predictably unpredictable in a way that only King Gizzard could pull off. The phrase "Sure, why not?" has been a part of the band's collective vocabulary since day one, and their constant experimentation in every genre of music ever conceived by humanity (and possibly aliens, as well) has proven that.
