RJ ANDREW - Black River LP

Highly recommended.

Excellent outing from and the debut solo album from Richard Andrew from the Underground Lovers, Crow, Black Cab and more.

Conceived and recorded during one of Melbourne's lockdowns, it provided Richard the opportunity to really harness his home studio to create a world of cinematic folk.

Dark, ambient, widescreen and emotional, I'm going to throw around names like Mark Kozolek, Bonnie Prince Billy and Damien Jurado for reference here. Not that the music here sounds exactly as such, but it inhabits a similar emotional landscape.
