Wally from Cheersquad's fave album of 2022, now released on vinyl c/o the good graces of Wally.

Australian singer-songwriter Cherote cut her teeth a few years back in NYC c/o the East Village folk scene, moved back to an off-the-grid cabin in NSW, raised money for a recording and managed to lay to tape this album at the legendary Grove studio with a 12-piece orchestra featuring members of the ACO.

It's an album of amazing emotional scope, mixing orchestral flourishes with a folk backbone. At times, it may bring to mind Julia Holter or Cassandra Jenkins, but it's something new and fresh.

The Guardian described track five, "To Be True", "one of the most singular recordings heard in years" and the LP in its entirety "a masterpiece".
