ARMOUR GROUP - Purge LP

Born of the power electronics/death industrial tradition, Armour Group have carved their
own yawning sonic niche with the PURGE LP. Minimal, sample driven electronics intensify the LP’s finely wrought atmosphere; restrained production and precise moments of tension seem to demand
the listener peer deeply into a shadowy fissure of human depravity.
Samples drawn largely from cult cinema reflect us at our most repulsive; serial killings, moral
corruption and depraved punishments for sins of depravity. 
Armour Group are asking us to stare into the abyss, but a record punctuated with moments of
euphoria suggests that the abyss need not stare back if we can realise the transformative
potential of seeing ourselves as we truly are.
