The history of The Pink Fairies begins in the late '60s when Twink recorded Think Pink with members of The Deviants, Wally of The Pretty Things and Steve Peregrine Took of .... Many of the musicians on the album were drinking friends of Mick Farren and they adopted The Pink Fairies as their name. Both Twink and Steve Peregrin Took were to feature on Mick Farren's solo album, Mona the Carnivorous Circus and the three adopted the name The Pink Fairies for their live gigs. Following an argument, Mick Farren split from the group, and Twink called in his friends from The Deviants (who happened to be in San Francisco) to continue The Pink Fairies.
