And Nothing Hurt is a distillation of all of the sonic ideas: an amalgamation of orchestral dream pop, psychedelic rock, Velvet Underground chug and choogle, gospel, and naked confessional. So no big surprises, but the raw emotions of recovery have softened into the bittersweet pain of simply living. A solid and satisfying release.
