WEIRDOS - Weird World: 1977-1981 Time Capsule Volume One LP

Though we can't expect a "Volume 2" to come out, this is the best collection of songs from one of California's earliest and best punk bands.

Certainly different than LA punk would become, the early scene took some of the arty aspect of the NYC scene, some of the ferociousness of the UK scene, and some influence from the 60's garage-rock of their own area.

The Weirdos were certainly the most eccentric (coming onstage sometimes covered in garbage or wearing strange clothing), and one of the most talented and smartest, equalled only by X.

This LP collects the band's singles from 1977-1981 (a few of the later ones actually being demos), and it hardly has a weak moment. From the early punk classics like "We Got the Neutron Bomb" and "Helium Bar" to stuff eerie rockers like "Pagan" and "Rhythm Syndrome", this is a fun filled collection.
