CAN - Live In Paris 1973 2LP
Mute and Spoon Records present the next installment of the curated CAN live concert series - the first in the series to feature Damo Suzuki vocals.
This is definitely one of the best previously available Can bootlegs. They're at the peak of their powers, the end of the Damo era. Though it's around the time of "Future Days", there's none of the material from that album and this performance doesn't share that album's mellow, airy celestial/oceanic vibes.
Instead you get the classic epic "Whole People Queueing", one of Can's most Eastern flavored tunes. Most of their 20+ minute live improvs tend to unravel a bit a times but this stays riveting throughout its entire 37 minutes. The version of "Spoon" seems to be the same one on "The Lost Tapes" and is one of the best live versions
