TIM ROGERS AND THE TEMPERANCE UNION - Spit Polish LP
$47.95
2024 reissue.
The album has a more country sound than his first solo album, with dirty electric guitars dominating the sound. The best songs are the first three (which include the excellent guitar riffage of “Fiction”) and the final three (which contains Tim’s “Letter to Gene”: a letter to Tim’s childhood idol Gene Simmons who he later met, discovering that Gene was only in music for the money and women).
The album is not as great as some Rogers/You Am I fans make out (give me What Rhymes With Cars And Girls any day), but is a fine album all the same.
