Highly recommended.
Their crowning achievement, but also capturing a band falling apart at the seams.
It's obvious to compare C+TCS to NC and the Bad Seeds, but where Nick Cave is influenced by Leonard Cohen, Simon Bonney is influenced by Tom Waits. Also, this band is tighter and more rocking than the Bad Seeds.
With three of the players moving on to form These Immortal Souls you can see that this band wasn't big enough for the two camps.
Yeah, there is a lot of tension on this record.
