On Machine Gun Etiquette, The Damned reformed to produce a contrasting album of not so serious two minute classics (see Love Song, Melody Lee etc.) to some more complex tracks such as 'Plan 9 Channel 7' and 'I Just Can't Be Happy Today'. The album also showcased the bands high quality musicianship - an excellent rhythm section, excellent lead vocals and brilliant lead guitar.
This album was the bridge from the bands early 'punk' days to their more creative and commercial eighties phase.
