THINKING FELLERS UNION LOCAL 282 - Strangers From The Universe LP

This is how I like my noise-rock: as an avenue to make otherworldly, quirky-sounding cacophony that's more colorful than abrasive. Let me tell you: this band and its abnormally long name delivers. This is one of those albums that could convince somebody without synesthesia that they have it because you can practically see the colors and textures they create with their guitars.

The scattered ambiance of "Guillotine" wouldn't have sounded out of place on Animal Collective's 'Feels', the fuzzy, scratchy noise and stringy twang of "Cup of Dreams" will make you believe in god, and the strange, moaning riffs on "My Pal The Tortoise" pair really well with these slightly muted strums that sound less like a guitar and more like a marimba.
