Canadian power pop band Sloan's umpteenth album, Steady, ranks among their best. The sound is spare, tight, and punchy, perfectly suiting the group's style (mid-'60s Beatles, essentially). To say that there isn't a bad song in the batch is an understatement. All are quite catchy and several of the tunes here are simply great.
