Mudhoney were the "first" and, it would appear, they are the last grunge band standing. They're not doing anything musically radical here, in fact, "Night and Fog" is actually built up out of the two most cliched grunge riffs every band used back in '90 (must be tongue in cheek). But what they have done is make a simple, catchy, sloppy set of lefty acid punk that, for this tired old geek, is a great counterpoint to both the era of shit we struggle through and all of the weird new sound shit I dig.
