If 2021 wasn’t deemed to be a year of big tent releases, it’s only because people are being willfully obtuse about Glow On. Look at almost every year-end list – Glow On is there. And high.

And this isn’t solely on the rock/punk-centric publications. Everyone stumped for Glow On. Why? Because it’s undeniable. It’s a force to be reckoned with and it’s loaded with jams.

Thirty years after Nevermind, we have a new release from the underground that actually feels like it can play on a big stage. Glow On is the kind of rising tide that could add some shine onto the entire hardcore underground. If only those bands could stick together long enough to capitalise.
