Highly recommended.
A haunting atmosphere. You're walking in the woods at night. It's autumn, and your breath fogs up. A thick mist surrounds your path. In the distance you can hear various sounds. A crow screaming. A branch breaking. You're not sure *why* you're here, but when you're listening to this album, you *are* here.
Strange Times is like The Wall of 80’s post-punk. It’s a sprawling odyssey of songs with occasional quirky moments and a blend of styles that seems to tell a story, like a goth carnival concept album. The vocals are looser than on previous outings, and actually are super reminiscent of Roger Waters maniac whatever-that-is. The production is sleeker than anything previous, but it doesn’t distract from how good the songs are on here. Their third masterpiece in a row.
