When this album was released in 1996, Shoegaze had all but died, replaced by the sounds of Britpop and Lush cleverly jumped ship.
The result is a confident set which presents Miki as the British version of Liz Phair and Juliana Hatfield. With her cute vocals, pretty accent and knowing words about awful men, she sounds great as the heroine of these songs, surrounded by Emma Anderson's inventive guitar style and Acland's still strong drumming.
