The last few years have seen the rediscovery of a lot of music that had been unjustly neglected due to association with the New Age tag. The work of Pauline Anna Strom is a prime example: though driven by highly subjective cosmic concepts, her ambient but melodic music transcends crystals’n’yoga cliché. Losing her sight in childhood didn’t prevent her digging deep into the arcane complexities of synths such as the Yamaha DX7.
