BADGE EPOQUE ENSEMBLE - Clouds Of Joy LP
Highly recommended.
We previously wrote about B.E.E:
"While it may call to mind an improbable collision between psych-era Stevie Wonder and the whimsically dark, Fantastic Planet score, it is clear we are operating in a post Wu-Tang paradigm. If a crate of library, tropicalia, prog and electric jazz records were flattened into a single 12” and then fed into a sampler, we might approximate the process."
This new album goes back to the Ensemble name and features a more similar sound to their 2nd album. A mixture of jazz, psych and soul but without really fitting in any of those categories, they've really got their unique sound going and like to cross over the usual borders of said genres. There's this free-form 70s aura floating over this from old proggy sounds and just doing what the hell came to your mind without worrying too much about this.
