Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer would bail for their own solo careers after this one, but despite the occasional tension between their compositional style and Bob's own approach, Burnin' could be regarded as a substantial improvement on Catch a Fire.

For starters, there's no lightweight filler track along the lines of Baby We've Got a Date (Rock It Baby) padding things out - in fact, this album is packed from end to end with fantastic tracks, from iconic numbers like Get Up, Stand Up and I Shot the Sheriff to somewhat less famous songs.
