So here's Dayton, Ohio's Brainiac, a really unique, freaky band of Devo nerds and fashion obsessives who played the most abrasive new wave / noise rock craziness the decade could produce and they're going goddamn EBM.

But they fucking nailed it. Electro-Shock for President is the band taking the best elements of EBM and grafting them onto the new wave / noise rock they've already got going on.

Yes, it absolutely echoes Reznor (I jokingly described Electro-Shock as "Two Inch Nails"), but bounced through their herky jerky, kinda goofy (that's the Devo bit) aesthetic. It's definitely not slick or commercial - kind of weird to think these guys got a major deal but, it was the 90's and freaky bands got signed (and dropped tout de suite) all the time.
