BREEDERS - Mountain Battles LP
$43.95
Includes inner sleeve and booklet.
If not for the weirdo cultural phenomenon thing that happened with Last Splash, Title TK would be generally recognised as the best Breeders album. Mountain Battles continues with the dark tone of that wonderful album, though the sound overall is significantly less sparse - where Title TK spent most of its running time sounding like the song was just about to start, Mountain Battles spends most of its time sounding like the song started a little while ago. MB also has an oddly crunching sound to its guitar and bass tones at times that wasn't anywhere on Title TK, and largely eliminates the bizarre electronic touches that popped up whenever you weren't expecting them on the previous album, replacing them with more organic-sounding organs when needed.
