Full length debut LP is a double-album dose of black magic riffs, fuzzed-out guitorgan, and painful peons to the devil-knows-what, comes as a double LP with a Rob Jones art etching on side 4 and is lovingly housed in a thick-as-thieves gatefold sleeve.

They say familiarity breeds contempt but the old adage doesn't appear to hold true for Jack White. The Dead Weather sees White joining yet another band – although here he literally appears happy to take a backseat as he returns to his first instrument the drums.

Pulling together Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack Lawrence (Blanche, The Raconteurs) and Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age) The Dead Weather inhabit a similar space to all White's other bands, yet still remain distinctive enough to warrant their existence.

It's a jaw-dropping record with the packaging to match.
