INTERPOL - The Other Side Of Make-Believe LP (colour vinyl)
Limited edition red colour vinyl.
Probably the most intricate and well-crafted Interpol record.
Interpol change their sound a lot, into a mellow, emotional, dragging and slower sound.
The soundscape crafted in TOSOMB is a stale place where clocks don't seem to tick. The mix is amazing, everything sounds clear and in place, Paul's vocals are much better than on Marauder which featured a terrible muddy and confusing mix, mediocre nasal vocals and really bland instrumentals. They reinvented themselves, TOSOMB is not like Marauder, it's not like the old Interpol at all, it's not like the s-t/El Pintor era with the gothic sound, it's not really "Interpol" and that's great, it doesn't have urgency and despair - instead it's introspective, slow, melancholic and weirdly comforting.
