Available for the first time ever, recovered from archived tapes, carefully restored and mastered.

Highly recommended.

King Bee was the precursor to the legendary Dead Moon, and was Fred Cole’s first attempt at bridging his 60’s and 70’s garage and hard rock styles with this new punk rock sound.

Compiled from master reels and cassette tapes that had been stored in a box for more than 40 years, this album contains more than a dozen unreleased studio and live tracks, as well as the three tracks from the band’s 1978 7” EP.

One of the final pieces of the FRED COLE puzzle is finally seeing release and I was amazed to find out that not only were so many unreleased KING BEE recordings but just how great they are. How this has avoided reissue for so long I do not know. Fred Cole on top of all his acolades is also credited with releasing the first Portland Punk single with his short lived band KING BEE. This release compiles the three song from said 7" and 11 more previously unreleased tracks.
