KING TUBBY - Dub From The Roots LP

They say that a dub is only as good as its source material. Well Tubby's source material comes from some of the islands top producers such as Bunny Lee, Augustus Pablo, Glen Brown, Yabby You etc. So across all of his albums/compiliations/b-sides he is working with some of the best 70's roots music. So unlike other artists in other genres who have one or two defining works that people look too, Tubby's work is constantly working with the best of other peoples work.

In terms of King Tubby's dubbing, he is always consistently great. While there are some dubs where Tubby seems more inspired than usual and goes for broke ie something like Stop Them Jah or anything off King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown for that matter. King Tubbys dubs are always tasteful, whether he is doing something very subtle or going all out.
