Mike D will release his debut album, marking the first full length offering of new music from a Beastie Boys alum since 2011.

Tracing its origins back to a series of zero-pressure, experimental recording sessions at Mike’s home studio, the album features a dozen servings of sonically inventive post-electronic grooves and hypnotic hooks that find Mike D’s unmistakable voice leading the listener through an aural playground that defies categorisation.

Mike D’s first solo effort gives off Chemical Brothers vibes but with some scuzzy guitars and vocals that sound like they have been shouted through a megaphone. Positive early 00s feels. There’s only one song, ‘It’s Time’ that you could imagine being a Beastie Boys song. A pleasant surprise that sounds like its own thing.
