With Brian Eno leaving the band after For Your Pleasure, Bryan Ferry was able to gain full control, which by this point was not yet a bad thing, as everything still works just as flawless as it did on their previous release. One thing that's great is that both Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay get their chance to show off on this one, even though they already did on For Your Pleasure, but here, I think both were at their peak. Manzanera played a really big part in creating this album, and it seems like he was just about everywhere. Listen to "Amazona", and you know what I mean. Even though he wrote it together with Bryan Ferry, it is his baby through and through. When he experiments with the weirdest sound effects on his guitar, that is another highlight in the early crazy Roxy Music catalogue.
