They have lightened up their style quite a bit, in comparison to the spooky Electric Wizard worship of their self-titled and the spacious, dire atmosphere of Soma. While the general formula of the band has stayed consistent (anthem-like, verse-chorus-verse-chorus songs of fuzzy guitars, sultry clean singing, and soaring lead solos drenched in wah effect), the four piece have lightened the load a bit.
The songs are a bit shorter, faster, catchier, the vocals are more in the forefront (and aren't overwhelmingly drowned out in reverb), clean guitar sections are utilized a bit more, and there is a distinct grunge flavor thrown into the mix. The ghost of Nirvana and early-Alice in Chains floats around in the downbeat, fuzzy ensemble, especially in the sullen delivery of the vocals and the layered harmonies that are utilized quite frequently (bringing to mind Dirt in particular).
